Brush Your Teeth Daily!

For good oral health, brush your teeth and floss twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste!

How Old Is Your Toothbrush?

Replace your toothbrush every 3 or 4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won't do a good job of cleaning your teeth.

A Healthy Diet Makes a Healthy Smile!

For healthy teeth and gums, eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks. Go easy on sugary treats!

More About The Dental Anesthesia Center

The Dental Anesthesia Center

We are unique to the field of General Dentistry. With a Missouri Dental Board Certification in Deep Sedation and General Anesthesia, Dr. Hoffmann places an emphasis on anesthesia and anxiety control for the individual with special needs. Providing care to individuals who are severely anxious, have difficulty getting numb, a severe gag reflex, are mentally or physically disabled , and patients who are unable to cooperate, such as young children , benefit from anesthesia services. Extensive treatment can be completed in as little as one visit for candidates who require a large amount of dental care from years of neglected visits to the dentist.

Our state-of-the-art dental facility accommodates to patients who require Oral Sedation, Deep Sedation, or General Anesthesia for dental care.

Are Certain Circumstances Keeping You Away From the Dentist ?

-- Special needs

-- Cerebral Palsy

-- Down's Syndrome

-- Autism

-- extreme gagger

-- phobic

-- severe gag reflex

-- Inability to become numb.

-- modified behavior

-- ADHD

-- medically compromised (allergies,

complications, etc.)

The reasons that keep a person away from the dentist are personal and unique to each individual. If any of the above reasons are why you find it difficult to go to the dentist, The Dental Anesthesia Center is the place for you !

Sleep Dentistry and Sedation Dentistry

What are the levels of sedation ?

Minimal Sedation (conscious) is the lightest level of sedation. It involves a mild sedative, such as a Valium like medication or Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas.) This kind of sedation requires no additional training for the dentist.

The next level is Moderate Sedation (conscious) and is referred to as "Sedation Dentistry ." Moderate Sedation allows the patient to simply respond to question. You are not asleep for Sedation Dentistry. When administered orally (pills), the dentist is required to receive two days of additional training. Intravenous (IV) Sedation requires at least 60 hours of training or a dentist can be trained as part of a residency program.

Deep Sedation or General Anesthesia is referred to as "Sleep Dentistry" (unconscious). Using this method, there is no memory of the procedure. Dentists who provide this method require a two year Dental Anesthesiology Residency or an Oral Surgery Residency. This is the recommended level of sedation for individuals unable to tolerate dental treatment for mental or physical reasons.

When you come in for your appointment , Dr. Hoffmann or Dr. Mayer will decide which level is best for you. We look forward to meeting you.

Choose St Peters Area Dental Implants for a Great New Smile!

If you're missing one or more teeth, you'll want to talk with St Peters area dental implants dentists Dr. Michael J. Hoffmann and Dr. Victoria Q. Mayer about replacements that feel and look as natural as your own teeth. If dentures make you uncomfortable, consider the benefits of dental implants. Unlike dentures, which can be removed, Dr. Michael J. Hoffmann and Dr. Victoria Q. Mayer can anchor dental implants permanently into the jaw itself.

At The Dental Anesthesia Center we can determine whether you're a good candidate for dental implants by examining your jawbone ridges and oral tissue to make sure they're healthy. If so, you can look forward to regaining the natural look and feel of your teeth, giving you more confidence when you smile - and more comfort when you chew. The placement of dental implants is a two-step process. First, Dr. Michael J. Hoffmann and Dr. Victoria Q. Mayer will insert a metal anchor into your jawbone where it will quickly form a mechanical and chemical bond. Once that's healed, we will place your new artificial tooth onto the metal base.

Call today to learn more about St Peters area dental implants with Dr. Michael J. Hoffmann and Dr. Victoria Q. Mayer at (314) 862-7844 for a healthy, more beautiful smile tomorrow.
